
FSCJ Baseball represented well at the JUCO All Star festivities
LAKELAND, FL. - Florida State College at Jacksonville had four representatives in the Florida JUCO Sophomore All Star Game in Lakeland this past Saturday. The four players were members of the SunLakes Conference All Star Team along with players from St. Johns River, Lake Sumter, South Florida State, Palm Beach State, and Pasco-Hernando. They competed against the All Stars from the Southern Conference, represented by Miami Dade, Eastern Florida, Florida Southwestern, and Indian River. Xavier Cintron and Blake Wood flanked the corner outfield for the SunLakes Conference team, while Jack Gidcumb caught and Colby Lipovsky pitched an inning. All three position players reached base in the game, and Lipovsky pitched a shutout inning.
Additionally, nine FSCJ players participated in the JUCO Sophomore Showcase held at the complex adjacent to the field. These players showcased their skills in front of numerous college and professionals coaches and scouts. These nine guys were Sam Gordon, Kobe Wiggins, Ryan Dickey, Alex Hurwitz, JC Medina, Dylan Dudones, Jacob Ward, Andrew Veniard, and Jaden Paradoa.
