South Georgia 7, FSCJ 5
The Florida State College baseball team played host to visiting South Georgia State College (SGSC).
Some unlucky bounces dug FSCJ in an early hole on Wednesday, as SGSC took a 6-0 lead into the 3rd inning before the Wave started clawing back. The deficit was cut to 6-3 in the bottom of the 3rd on a Noah Wood 2-run home run, his first of the season, and a Carson Womer RBI double. Single runs in the 5th (Ashton Nugent solo home run – first career homer) and 6th (Pedro Morales RBI double) further cut into the South Georgia lead, before SG added one of their own in the 7th inning to bring the game to its 7-5 final score.
Dylan Peck (0-1) took the loss for FSCJ, allowing 5 earned runs on 7 hits in 1.1 innings. The bullpen of Gant Geiger, Tristin Bohler, Dylan Cope, Connor Nelson, and Jayden Long combined for 7.2 innings pitched, only allowing one run on three hits, walking two and striking out eight. Nugent, Morales, and Mac Wilkins had multi-hit games.
