Jordan Smith Named FCSAA Player of the Week

Florida State College at Jacksonville men's basketball player Jordan Smith was selected as the FCSAA Region 8 Player of the Week for DII.

Smith, a redshirt-freshman guard, is a Jacksonville native who graduated from Sandalwood High School in 2022. He spent the 2022-2023 season at NCAA Division-I Queens University of Charlotte as a member of the men's basketball team where he redshirted as a freshman. He is one of twelve newcomers to the FSCJ Men's Basketball program this season. The FSCJ Men's Basketball team has a record of 17-5 overall. Smith's recent performances have helped guide the men to a 4-0 start in Region VIII conference play.

Averaging 15.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals per game, and a three-to-one assist-to-turnover ratio last week, Smith knocked down two clutch game-sealing free throws in an overtime victory at Florida Gateway College and helped lead the men to a resounding home victory against Pasco Hernando State College to solidify the team's hold atop the conference standings.
