Runs Hard to Come By In Early Season Softball Action

Game 1: FSCJ 3  TSC 5

Brittani Murray started in the circle for FSCJ Manta Rays. The starter allowed nine hits and five runs (four earned) over six innings, striking out two and walking three. Alonso began the game for TSC. The pitcher gave up six hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out one and walking two.

Burton and Peyton Studt each collected two hits for FSCJ Manta Rays. Masey Padgett, Burton, Riley Page each drove in one run for FSCJ.

TSC amassed nine hits in the game. Richardson, Alonso, Lauren Rifenberg, and M Collier each collected two hits for TSC. Faulk led TSC with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day.

Game 2: FSCJ 0 TSC 5

TSC got on the board in the bottom of third inning after Rifenberg grounded into a fielder's choice, Collier hit a sacrifice fly, and Alonso singled to center field, each scoring one run. 

Layne Preece opened the game for FSCJ Manta Rays. The right-handed pitcher surrendered eight hits and five runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out one and walking two. Prescott started the game for TSC. The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out two and walking three. 

Bakken and Randall each collected two hits for FSCJ. FSCJ turned one double play in the game. TSC piled up eight hits in the game. Richardsom collected two crucial hits for TSC.
