Patrece Albertie Joins FSCJ Women's Basketball as Assistant Coach
First-year head coach Jessica Eaton has announced the hiring of Patrece Albertie as the first addition to her staff as an assistant coach.
"Coach Patrece was one of the first people I met when I started coaching at FSCJ," said head coach Jessica Eaton. "She was a must-have because of her experience and longevity in coaching, and because you can't be the community's college without having a strong, respected figure in the Jacksonville basketball community. We are grateful to have her."
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Albertie's love for sports blossomed at a young age as she participated in various athletic endeavors throughout middle and high school.
Albertie continued her journey at Florida State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. At FSU, she served as both a team manager and assistant equipment manager for the women's basketball team, laying a solid foundation for her future in coaching.
Her coaching career began at Robert E. Lee High School (now Riverside), where she was Head Junior Varsity Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach for Girls' Basketball. Albertie's influence in the local sports scene continued to grow from there as she took on various roles with the Florida Lady Knighthawks' semi-pro team, including Assistant Coach.
After a brief hiatus from coaching, Albertie returned to the hardwood and continued to develop young athletes with the KA Nightmares and Essence travel basketball programs. Beyond her coaching duties, she has also contributed to the growth of girls' basketball in Northeast Florida through her published articles in Duval Sports and Prep Hoops.
"I look forward to sharing my passion for the game to inspire and shape the next generation of Manta Rays," said Albertie. "I hope my dedication, knowledge, and love for the game will prove to be assets to help Coach Eaton and our student-athletes acheive success for years to come."
