FSCJ Women's Basketball Adds Antwan Johnson as Assistant Coach

The recent hiring of Antwan Johnson as an assistant coach has sparked excitement within the women's basketball program at FSCJ. Head coach Jessica Eaton praised his contributions, stating, "Coach Johnson is a great addition to the program. His experience playing at the JUCO level and professionally allows him to share a unique experience with our athletes."

Antwan Johnson, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, has a rich athletic history that positions him as an invaluable resource for young players. After redshirting his freshman year at Snead State Community College in Boaz, Alabama, he played two successful years at Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, where he honed his skills and earned his associate degree.

His journey didn't stop there. At Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota, he made history by contributing to the college's first-ever conference win and helping secure the best record in the school's history. This achievement culminated in a remarkable run to the semi-finals of the playoffs and showcased his dedication and talent on the court in the process.

After transferring to Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas, Johnson's path took an unexpected turn due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, his passion for the game continued. He played three seasons of semi-pro basketball for the Arlington Bulldogs where he further sharpened his skills and knowledge of the sport.

In addition to his coaching role, Antwan Johnson has launched E.S.T. (Elite Skills Training), a brand focused on developing basketball players of all ages. His program emphasizes a solid fundamental understanding of the game which forms the basis of his coaching philosophy. Johnson is also active as a referee that he credits for giving him a well-rounded perspective of the game.

Now residing in Jacksonville, Florida, Johnson shares his life with his wife, Keona Johnson. With his wealth of experience and passion for mentoring young athletes, Johnson is poised to significantly impact the program and its players.
