FSCJ Volleyball Makes a Paws-itive Difference at Jacksonville Humane Society
The Florida State College at Jacksonville volleyball team spent time on Tuesday morning volunteering at Jacksonville Humane Society near the College's South Campus for the first time this semester. The team had the opportunity to take over 50 adoptable dogs on their morning stroll, give them treats, play with them at the park, and learn more about their stories prior to arriving at the local animal shelter.
"Volunteering at the Humane Society was an incredibly rewarding experience," said freshman Kennedy Walker. "I loved getting to give back to my community while also getting to love on the cutest little puppies. I hope to go back real soon."
The program made frequent trips to the shelter last year in hopes of making a difference and plans to continue its support. From assisting the dogs to get exercise, bonding with animals, and giving care where it is needed, Jacksonville Humane Society is always looking for volunteers. "We got to hang out with the cutest dogs and help out an amazing organization that gives back to our community," added freshmen Maison Turner. "It was such a great experience and I hope we get to go back soon."
